Weather Related School Closings

The Grand Rapids Child Discovery Center follows Grand Rapids Public Schools when determining if school will be closed due to adverse weather conditions. Policy is to close school only when absolutely necessary. We want all children to be safe and recognize that unexpected closings may create child care issues for many parents. If school is open and you feel traveling is unsafe, we encourage you to make the best decision for your child. Remember, look or listen for Grand Rapids Public Schools’ name regarding closing of The Discovery Center.
