I am Molly French
I am a Kindergarten/First Grade teacher in Discovery A. My first year at the GRCDC was 2002.
The people I work with the most at the GRCDC are Bob Fiore (Mr. Fiore) and Josie Hiltz (Ms. Josie).
You may call me at school at 616-459-0330, or send an email.
My goals
- To expand my knowledge of technology for young children and incorporate new tools/materials into the daily life of Discovery A
- To run a 5K
- To get a PHD and teach at the college level…eventually
My history
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Western Michigan University in 1997. I worked as a children’s in-home case manager in a metro Detroit mental health clinic for 5 years. While working with the children in their schools, I realized I was very interested in education, as well as mental health. I chose to return to school for an elementary certification. I earned my early childhood certification in 2002 from the University of Michigan, specializing in the Reggio Emilia approach to education. I was hired to teach at the GRCDC in 2002. I have been working in Discovery A with Kindergarten and First Grade students ever since. I also received my Master’s degree in early childhood from Western Michigan University in 2006.
I connect with
Photography, cooking, the outdoors and young children
